The next couple of weeks I’m focused on what it means to outsource your social, what issues people usually want help with and what it looks like to work with our team.
This week’s Big Marketing Minute is specifically on Meta. Business Manager, Ad Manager, Business Settings, Sharing Permissions, Adding a Partner and at what level? It’s.. um… a lot. Meta does not make this easy for small businesses to find and use simply. And there seems to be a good reason for that.
My theory, and the theory of others in my industry, is that Meta has been cracking down on sharing permissions and access to Facebook and Instagram accounts because there is a U.S. election coming. Meta was likely complicit in the hacking and fake accounts that published false content during our last Presidential election, even if they didn’t intend to be. So perhaps locking things down is a tactic that will help alleviate some of that nonsense. Could it save democracy? Well, I’m not sure. But it could be one step toward stopping hackers from sharing fake news.
What this means for small businesses running their own social and trying to share with agencies or partners is, well, a headache. And from there… well, more headaches.
How can Big Voice Social help alleviate your headaches?
We often get calls from companies for this very reason. “We were handling this in-house but it’s just gotten too convoluted and we are looking to get it off our desks.” As I’ve talked about in recent weeks, even I have found that Ad Manager, specifically, has taken things to a level that is just too cumbersome in my brain and I’ve partnered with another agency to make magic happen for my clients’ paid campaigns. And… it’s working.
If you’re about to throw in the towel, let me know. We are happy to help you figure out the best way forward for your brand and your business to use social.
Next week I’m going to focus on what it looks like to work with our team. Let me know what questions you may have!
