One of the ways to get more mileage out of your content is the art of repurposing. Remember that when people read something or hear something they don’t absorb it until they have heard it or seen it multiple times (some say it can take 90 times to hit a person with an idea before they even pay attention). With that in mind, writing a blogpost and pushing it out there once is probably not going to return results you are looking for.
So today I want to talk about the method of repurposing and how you can say your message multiple times in multiple ways. The trick is to really come up with a schedule of topics and then lay out a list of pieces of content you can use to relay that message in different ways.
That content could be a variety of the following:
- Blogpost – shared on social
- Video
- Carousel graphics with bullet points on Instagram
- LinkedIn Article
- Instagram Live with a guest to discuss the topic
- Guest on a podcast on that topic
- Column writer in a publication on that topic
- Social posts with examples that prove the point of your topic
- E-newsletter to your community
This is just a smattering of ideas. What other pieces of content can you think of that will help to share your idea far and wide?
The organization of this is really what’s critical. If you’ve been here for a while then you know I have a weekly topic that starts with my Big Marketing Minute and is carried out in multiple ways through the week. Do I ever repeat a topic? Of course I do! When content is important you can repurpose it multiple times to get your message across.
So get out there and make your voice even bigger by repurposing your content this week!
