This week’s Big Marketing Minute is a quick one but an important one.
Did you know… approximately 75% of people watch videos on their phones on mute? Think about it… you might be in the backseat of an uber, or on public transportation, or waiting for that game to end that’s now in overtime and you sat down on the couch to watch a movie and when is this game going to be over? Well, that might be just me.
But if you are out there creating video content (and I hope you are) it’s important that you take one quick step before publishing and make sure your captions are showing. If someone is trying to watch a video on silent and there are no captions, they’re going to scroll on by. And what do I always say? Your social media content should focus on stopping the scroll.
Video is a great way to accomplish this goal. Our clients know that if we are going to publish a video on their behalf, we are going to be careful about being authentic as their voice. Stock video and stock photography is just not going to cut it. Our agency makes sure that video footage we put out IS the client. We scheduled time to visit our local clients and capture video footage of them, coaching them to implement keywords in their script, invite the viewer into their behind-the-scenes life and be authentic.
Video is a great way to get your community to really know you. or the business owner, or the team member you want to feature. It gives another layer of the business someone may not know from a store shelf.
Let us know if you need help with your videos. We coach solopreneurs and company marketing managers often and we’d be happy to help you as well!
