The past few weeks have had a lot of focus on continuing education. And for what feels like the first time, I seem to be the one teaching.

I never really thought of myself as a teacher. I’m a doer. Need someone to tell someone how to do something? That’s probably not going to be me. Need someone to buckle down and get stuff done? I’m your girl.

Is it imposter syndrome? Maybe.

  • What if I can’t find the words?
  • What if I forget where something is and look like a fool in front of the room?
  • What if someone asks me a question I can’t answer?

But the opportunities seemed to have been coming at me… the Middletown Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber St. Matthews, the workshop I put together with two of my colleagues, and the online one-to-one consultation I did with a client, honing her brand and developing her voice behind the keyboard.

All it just kind of came my way… and who am I to turn down a great opportunity?

I’ve got a couple presentations ready to roll:

  • How to develop your brand voice and “do” social media efficiently and effectively
  • How to do LinkedIn in 15 minutes a day.

What I particularly like about the LinkedIn presentation is I teach how LinkedIn is different than the other platforms, and how to really conquer it and how to be efficient doing so. We talk about how LinkedIn can really be a tool for sales teams and how important it is for public-facing people at a company to dig in and get active.

I find I’m really enjoying sharing tips and tricks with people. Public speaking isn’t something I’m afraid of.

And when we don’t need to get so public, we’ve really perfected the one-on-one 3-hour workshop we’ve built. We find often that clients aren’t interested in outsourcing. They want to keep everything in-house. And, if they are solopreneurs, they really want it to be their voice. We’ve got a budget-friendly opportunity to teach these individuals all we know.

We split it into two sessions:

  1. 90-minutes of developing your voice and brand message as well as your content buckets and editorial calendar
  2. 90-minutes of either Instagram or LinkedIn tactical implementation. For Instagram, clients work directly with Candace, our resident Instagram specialist.

Need help? Let me know.

As I’m teaching I’m also learning…

Instagram launched Edits this week, it’s own editing tool. I’m intrigued already. I’m usually not an early adopter of new platforms. I know, I know, I’m supposed to be. But I’m just not. Old habits die hard. But this one… I get it and I like it. So I’m going to log off this thing tonight so I can go play on there and learn everything we need to know to really make our clients’ content sparkle.
