Believe it or not, I was hesitant to dive right into using AI. There are real-world examples of how AI is already part of my life:

  • It knows my favorite Peloton instructors
  • It knows which groceries I’m likely to buy
  • It knows when I’m running low on regular Amazon purchases
  • When my kids were campers it would send facially-recognized pictures of them to me via the app
  • It knows when we are away and can adjust the temperature
  • It knows when I’m in traffic

All of these are examples of AI that have benefited my life for several years, right?

My best example was from when I was in London and I was traveling alone, with two small, wheeled suitcases (I was taking one of my daughter’s pieces of luggage home for her). I put into Chat my hotel location, the terminal at Heathrow I was headed to and that I needed a list of directions to travel through without a lot of steps due to the extra luggage. It was brilliant and saved me a huge headache.

But when it came to creating authentic, organic content on social for my clients, I shied away from it. We have always sold our services as being purely authentic, real voices in the brand voice of those companies. What I have found over the last year or so, however, is there is a place for AI-created content, but as with anything, in moderation and with balance.

You’ll never find our team submitting a blogpost to a client completely written by AI. BUT sometimes we do run those rough drafts through AI to be sure we aren’t repeating ourselves, that we are saying things clearly. I’m a big believer in having another set of eyes proofread something for me and Chat provides that service.

Sometimes AI can help me with timing – when’s the best time to publish an article for a client? Though the social platform insights can tell me that as well, sometimes.. .like I said… another opinion isn’t a bad thing.

There are three common myths that can hold back someone from starting with AI:

Myth 1: “AI writes all your posts for you.”
Reality: AI can draft — but it can’t feel. Your voice, humor, and values still need to lead.

Myth 2: “Using AI is cheating.”
Reality: Think of AI as a brainstorming partner, not a shortcut. It helps with ideas and efficiency — not authenticity.

Myth 3: “It’s too complicated for me.”
Reality: Most tools are designed to be user-friendly. Start with just one feature, like caption ideas or headline rewriting, and build from there.

You’re not late to the game, but it’s time to get started if you haven’t yet.

Playing around with AI is a great way to experiment, save time, and build consistency — but a strong social media presence still needs real strategy, clear messaging, and a human touch. That’s where we come in. If you’re ready to elevate your brand’s voice and stop guessing what to post, let’s talk. Your feed (and your followers) will thank you.
